ABOUT

Our home is a 3bd/1ba post-war box style house, built in 1954 south of Heartwell Park, in an unincorporated island of Long Beach known as Carson Park.

This classic model (Plan E of the Carson Park Mutal Homes) features a small bedroom in the front of the home facing the street, with the master and third bedroom stradling the single bath on the south side. Facing east is a grand living room , which, when we bought it featured a back door and original floor to ceiling multi-pane crank-out window looking out over a deep backyard.

Since acquiring the home in August 2014, gone is the nearly original retro 1950's kitchen and dining room. Over the first six weeks of homeownership, we gave the interior a complete facelift. That journey is detailed in this site's blog.

Six years later I'm rewriting this "about" to tell you we're in our next phase of homeownership. The Renovation-Addition Phase.

Join us, Kat and Mike Dumalski, as we attempt general construction for the first time in order to expand our 1,199 sq. ft home to 1,536 inhabitable square feet of living space.
