allen+roth Venatino Mixed Material Mosaic Wall Tile
This natural assortment of coordinated color tones will make the perfect kitchen backsplash.
Starting with white subway tile, we'll let this cool, clean, fresh-looking glass and natural stone mosaic serve as the accept border. Where the stove slides in on the wall opposite of the sink, we'll tile it from the quartz countertop to the stopve-top vent.

Mirror Mirror
Over the sink, where previously two mismatched mirrored vanities, from two different decades at least 30 years apart once hung, we'll patch and fill the holes and hang a giant 44"w x 36"h mirror with an antique bronze frame in kind of a steampunk design.

Hampton Bay Flushmount Lighting
Keeping with the nautical theme in the bath, we're leaning towards a single light Flush Mount Brushed Nickel Ceiling Round Fluorescent Light by Hampton Bay, centered to room. Kinda looks like a porthole.

The Great Outdoors
Every Southern California home needs a great outdoor space, like this deck that acts as an extension of the living space indoor and brings the outdoors in and vice versa.

Guest Bath Dreams
Our bathroom got a lot of attention, but not much money poured into it. Dreaming of the day when we can gut it and start over with contemporary new floor tiles like these plus tile accents all the way around, floor to about chest high.

Shower Tentacles
And of course, we'll need to upgrade that shower curtain. How about this? The gray scale hand drawn look of an octopus's tentacles trailing out of sight.

Sea Farers Tile
Tranquil, paying homage to the sea and yet partly reminiscent of "the old world" (which ever part of the old world you came from - Spain, France, Morocco).

Darcy White and Silver Wallpaper
Product of the week: Darcy: White and Silver Wallpaper. The Property Brothers used this exact same paper in one of their shows. I found the inspiring design at houze.com and luckily, a poster tracked it down to the Graham & Brown website. Only $49/roll.

Octopus Shower Curtain
When I saw this DENY Designs Valentina Ramos Polyester Octopus Bloom Shower Curtain at Wayfair.com I knew I had to have it. Inspiration for our tiny bathroom just flooded over me like a giant wave from a Jules Vern novel. Hence the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea concept.

Bathroom Vanity
Floating vanities are a MUST have in our next guest bath makeover. Easy to mop up under, no collection of dust or dog hair - or at least nowhere for it to hide.

Reclaimed Wood Dining Table
An inspiration struck me yesterday as I was purusing Houzz.com's app. Since my dad also does welding, I thought we might reclaim the wood from the patio overhang and split and sand all the viable 4x4s and 4x2s to create a new, rustic looking dinging room table with custom metal legs like those on this table.

Corpse White Tile
Found this at Tile Bar via Pinterest, and of course it's made for me. This off white color pairs great with gray grout which is what we want to do throughout the bath. White grout just can't be kept clean.

Kraken Me Up
OMG. THIS. It's a decorative 4" kraken drain cover, perfect for the guest bath, which, although being completely gutted and renovated, will receive the same theming as before - 20,000 leagues under the sea.
